Terms of use

Effective 5 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Lux Fidei. Please read them; by creating an account or using Lux Fidei, you agree to them.

Who we are

Lux Fidei (luxfidei.org) is run by Verity Kahn, doing business as Lux Fidei, based in Texas, USA (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@luxfidei.org.

Who can use Lux Fidei

  • You must be an adult (18 or over) to create an account.
  • Children take part only through a parent’s family profile or their teacher’s classroom. They do not have their own accounts.
  • Teachers who start a classroom confirm that their school allows them to use Lux Fidei with their class.
  • Keep your sign-in details private. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, and for the children’s profiles you add.

Access, trials and codes

  • New pilgrims receive a free trial. After it, using the Oratory and adding to your progress needs an access code (or, in future, a subscription).
  • A code gives access for the time stated with it, usually one year. A family code covers both parents in a family. A classroom code covers one teacher’s classroom, that teacher’s own prayer, and the children linked to the class when they pray at home.
  • Codes are personal to the person, family or classroom that redeems them, and can’t be resold. Prices and any refunds are as stated when the code is bought.
  • When access ends, your progress is kept safe and visible, and prayer resumes when access is renewed.

Using Lux Fidei well

Please don’t misuse Lux Fidei: don’t try to break or overload it, reach other people’s information, get around access, copy its content to build another service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Content

  • Lux Fidei’s design, artwork, writing, saint stories and animations belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for prayer within Lux Fidei, including on a classroom screen, but not copy or republish them.
  • Scripture excerpts are from the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Links to the full daily readings open the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website.
  • We take care with the faith content, but Lux Fidei is an aid to prayer. It is not a substitute for the sacraments, the teaching of the Church, or the guidance of a priest or spiritual director.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Lux Fidei running well, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever close Lux Fidei, we’ll give you reasonable notice.

Disclaimers and liability

Lux Fidei is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending your account

You can stop using Lux Fidei at any time, and delete your account in Settings (or by writing to hello@luxfidei.org). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why where we can.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, and any dispute will be resolved in its courts, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in Lux Fidei or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Lux Fidei after that means you accept the new terms.
